The collapse of the Atlantic Canadian cod fishery in the late 1990s developed my passion for ecology, natural history, oceans, and all things East Coast.  
As an undergraduate student, I first explored the archival field as a summer student at the Kings County Museum in Kentville, NS, and the Acadia University Archives in Wolfville, NS. 
Pursuing a Master’s in Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, allowed me to bring natural history and archival studies together under the common theme of conservation.
The research presented in this blog continues that interest, reflecting on the long history of reducing the pollution of Halifax harbour, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. 
While in graduate school, I developed a parallel interest in student support services, which has allowed me to pursue a career in student services outside of the classroom.
